Can we really rate Koen Casteels’ match? Official number 1 literally…didn’t have to do anything. Probably one of the quietest matches of his career.
Timothy Castagne (6)
One of the most discreet Devils, with few flashy actions and almost no danger behind his back. Not very enterprising offensively.
Axel Witsel (6.5)
He has already seemed much more energetic than against Montenegro. A few anticipation errors in front of Gerson Rodrigues, well compensated. We’re waiting to see him against a high-level opponent, but it’s promising.
Wout Faes (8)
Who would’ve believed that ? Here he is, boss and indisputable pillar of defense, and the only certainty in this sector. A few more mistakes and muscular interventions of little use but in the aerial game and the ability to relieve everyone, very solid. And this sublime assist for Trossard as the icing on the cake.
Maxim De Cuyper (7.5)
Built for the unfortunate Meunier, Maxim De Cuyper seduced everyone. If he has to start the Euro as a starter, we don’t worry too much… as long as the opponent doesn’t have high-level wingers. The Bruges resident tries a lot of things, dares, and is visibly very comfortable.
Orel Mangala (6)
In a chair facing a very weak opponent. Perhaps a tendency to look too much for the clean solution in small spaces, taking risks if the opponent puts more pressure. Little or no offensive contribution.
Amadou Onana (7)
He will have to put the handbrake on at times at the Euro to avoid too many cards or risks, but his profile is unique. The 2-0 starts with a three-star interception on his part. Tries long shots but must adjust the sights.
Kevin De Bruyne (6.5)
Less spectacular than against Montenegro, he tried to combine with Lukaku very often and often found him in depth. Motivated, driven forward, brilliant in his movements and anticipations, he died before his release.
Jérémy Doku (8.5)
If it had only been necessary to rate his first period, Doku would perhaps not have been very well rated, because his dribbles struggled to lead to a successful cross. The Manchester City winger often even pushed the ball too far. But he persevered and no defender can hold him for an hour without finally breaking down. Result: a caviar, and even almost a second in the process. Unmanageable for his opponents.

A world-class gesture to save a dull and uninspired performance. It’s enough, but will it be enough to start at the Euro? The Gunner did not earn any points.
