During the night from Saturday to Sunday, around 1:30 a.m., a serious altercation occurred at the foot of a building in Laval (Mayenne). Twin brothers, aged 30, were allegedly attacked by two other men: the first brother died, while the second was injured, according to a police source, confirming information from Ouest-France.
According to initial information, the deceased was allegedly attacked by two individuals at the foot of his building. His twin, alerted by the noise of the altercation, would have rushed to his aid. It was there that he discovered his brother's lifeless body, received a blow from the butt of a revolver and several other blows. “Alcoholized and in shock”, indicates a police file, the injured man was hospitalized.
His brother, hit by a stab wound to the chest, was declared dead by the Samu doctor. The suspects are on the run. According to a police source, the hypothesis of a dispute between members of the neighborhood was favored in the first hours of the investigation.
According to Ouest-France, an investigation was opened for intentional homicide and aggravated intentional violence and entrusted to the interdepartmental judicial police service (SIPJ 49) of Angers (Maine-et-Loire). The departmental directorate of the national police of Mayenne was also contacted.
Sunday afternoon, the mayor of Laval, his deputy, the prefect of Mayenne and the departmental police director visited the family of the deceased. In a report, Ouest-France says that the victim had grown up in the Bourny district, where he died. Since 2017, he has been a charterer in a transport company, where he completed his work-study program.
