Saint-Dizier/Montier/Ornel at the end of the suspense in the women’s 8-a-side

The Patrick-Poulain Stadium in Bourmont hosted, on Saturday June 8, the Haute-Marne youth cup finals as well as the senior women’s eight-a-side final. The latter offered a derby between on one side the Saint-Dizier/Montier/Ornel alliance in Valcourt which was aiming for the double this year after its victory last year.

The start of the match was balanced. Johanna Collin thought she had opened the scoring in the 44th minute, but the goal was disallowed for offside. Little by little, Saint-Dizier/Montier/Ornel approached the Valcourt goal. Margot Noël’s strike involved Léa Gauthey (8′). Then Lena Brigot stood out (18′). In the following minute, Karima El Youssoufi’s recovery was diverted by Britanny Vaugenot.

While the two were heading towards equality at the break, Saint-Dizier/Montier/Ornel found the opening through Margot Noël (0-1, 38′). At the end of the first period, the scorer of the day, Margot Noël, had the opportunity to make the break. Alone in front of the Valcourt goalkeeper, she sent the ball over the crossbar. With this one-goal advantage Saint-Dizier/Montier/Ornel reached the break. At the start of the second half, Valcourt tried to catch up, but had difficulty worrying the Entente goalkeeper. Saint-Dizier/Montier/Ornel managed to maintain their goal lead. Goal opportunities were rare in this second act.

While Saint-Dizier/Montier/Ornel held on to their victory, in added time, Valcourt snatched the equalizer through Karima El Youssoufi (1-1). The terrible penalty shootout would decide between the two teams. Saint-Dizier/Montier/Ornel resisted the pressure and won (4-2) on penalties thanks to a final shot from its captain, Camille Vallon.

U18 Final: Ecole Marne Rongeant creates a surprise and wins the Haute-Marne Cup

Despite the three divisions difference, Ecole Marne Rongeant created a big sensation in these Haute-Marne cup finals by winning (2-1) against ASPTT Chaumont. Trailing at the break, the Nord Haut-Marnais were able to reverse the trend in the second half.

Ecole Marne Rongeant (EMR) created the first chance of the match in the 6th minute, with a strike from Tom Ambrosetti which finished next to Elvin Baudion’s goal. Four minutes later, ASPTT’s first opportunity was going to be the right one. On a well-executed counterattack, Ethan Pisel, on the left, served Matteo Lorusso who beat Alexy Mauvage for the opener (1-0, 10′). It was on this short advantage that the ASPTT reached the break.

Returning from the locker room, EMR, through Yusuf Bicer, was very close to equalizing, but his shot hit the post (47′). It was only a postponement: on a back pass from one of his defenders, the Chaumont goalkeeper made a blunder (1-1, 52′). In the 69′, Alexy Mauvage saved his team by stopping a shot from Ethan Poinsel.

A quarter of an hour from the final whistle, Ecole Marne Rongeant made the difference with a free kick masterfully taken by Nord Haut-Marne captain Enzo Scoditti (1-2, 76′). The ASPTT Chaumont threw all its forces into the battle in vain and had to give in.
This day dedicated to the youth finals began early in the morning with the U13 reserves. In a 100% Marnavalais shock, team “2” got the better of “3” by winning (3-2).

Not the day of the ASPTT Chaumont in the Haute-Marne Cup

The main U13 final of the Haute-Marne Cup was more than undecided: the Groupement sud Haut-Marne and ASPTT Chaumont resorted to a penalty shootout to decide between them. At half-time, the Chaumontais led (2-1). In the second period, the Groupement Sud Haut-Marne pushed to equalize and win on penalties (3-2). A final which was played in an excellent state of mind.

In U15, the Entente Bologna/ASPTT Chaumont was crowned after a goal-rich final. The Entente won (4-2) against Bassigny football, which was far from unworthy.
