Podor, June 8 (APS) – The high school in the commune of Médina Ndiathbé, in the department of Podor, won the 2024 edition of the Prix de la Francophonie de Slam des Yvelines at the expense of ten establishments from several countries, noted the ‘APS.

The results of the competition were announced via the internet on Friday at the Open Digital Space (ENO) in Podor where school officials had arranged to meet.

The competition, the 2024 edition of which focuses on the theme ”sports and Olympism”, is at the initiative of the Department of Yvelines in France as part of its cooperation with the local authorities of Kanel, Matam and Podor in Senegal, Lokossa, Grand Popo in Benin and Anétho in Togo.

”The second edition brought together a total of eleven teams representing schools from Senegal, France, Benin and Togo to discuss value-bearing themes such as sport and Olympism,” explained to the ‘APS, Abdoul Aziz Ndiath, secretary general of the Podor Departmental Council.

The final took place on several sites in France, Benin, Togo and Senegal, via the internet.

The amphitheater of the Open Digital Space (ENO) of Podor welcomed the teams from the high schools of Médina Ndiathbé (Podor), Ourossogui (Matam) and Orkadjiéré (Kanel) as well as members of the international jury spread across the countries
participants.

”With Yvelines, we maintain a privileged cooperation which has allowed our communities to benefit from several projects of great utility for our populations,” welcomed Mr. Ndiath.

He particularly insisted on the opportunity that this cooperation offers young people to exchange on a scientific and cultural level and to lay the foundations for greater solidarity, he argued.

”It’s a great victory for the department of Podor,” responded the president of the Podor Departmental Council, Mamadou Dia, in a telephone interview, encouraging the local establishments to maintain excellence.

The Médina Ndiathbé high school team with Ramata Sy from TL’1 and Malick Ndiath from 1ere L2, ranked first (115 points), thus winning the overall prize.

Ranked 2ethe Aného-Ville high school (commune of Lacs 1, in Togo), wins the partner prize.

Arrival 3ethe Poissy college (department of Yvelines, France), wins the Yvelines prize.
