The 22e edition of the Fiesta Campera bullfighting event will constitute the highlight of the 2024 season in the Great South West. As usual, in the beautiful, fully covered André-Taris arenas, the local peña Toro blanco is offering an enticing program that will stretch over the entire weekend.
Saturday November 9. At 6 p.m., at the municipal theater, conference on the theme of bullfighting schools, with the screening of the film “Sables fauves” directed by Francis Del Rio. At the end, Richard Milian and Jose Ignacio Sanchez will answer questions. Without forgetting exchanges with the matadors of the Fiesta campera. This evening will end at 8 p.m. in the village hall, just a stone's throw away, with tapas and grills (participation: 7 euros).
Sunday November 10. From 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., tasting of the essential duck rumps. Then it's time for the show: four novillos from the Jalabert brothers, with the help of Jean-Baptiste, will face a cartel of four young bullfighters.
Bullfighters of the future
El Rafi, from Nîmes, left a strong impression in Dax during Toros y salsa, facing a very good bullfight from Marge. Christian Parejo, a native of Chiclana de la Frontera, but from Béziers by adoption, attended the Béziers bullfighting school run by maestro Thomas Cerquiera. Christian has bullfighted ten bullfights this season and cut off 14 ears.
Alongside them, Alejandro Mora, born into a bullfighter family, took the alternative in 2023 at the Atlantic Feria in Bayonne where he triumphed. Finally, Julio Norte, from the bullfighting school of Salamanca, student of José Ignacio Sanchez, won the unpiqué of the Madeleine 2024. He was also a finalist in Dax and exited through the Nicolas Fraile gate in these André-Taris arenas.
The aficionado's meal will be served after the show with the participation of the actors of the morning.
