Villa Camille: an elegant hotel facing the Mediterranean

Last May, Villa Camille, a four-star hotel, opened its doors in Banyuls-sur-Mer, offering a mix of luxury and history on the seafront. This house began life in 1888 under the aegis of the Danish architect Petersen, at the request of Pierre Bardou, a renowned industrialist.

The Villa Camille has managed to preserve the charm of yesteryear while adapting to the requirements of modern hotels. This is evidenced by the original cement tiles which still adorn the floor, recalling the rich history of this residence. Formerly a place of learning for young women wishing to become governesses, the villa has reinvented itself while preserving its unique architectural character.

Sandra, the director of the establishment, proudly tells the story of this iconic house. Its transformation into a four-star hotel was done while respecting its past, while integrating contemporary amenities that meet the expectations of a high-end clientele.

The hotel benefits from an exceptional location, by the sea, offering a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean. Its outdoor terrace is a true haven of peace, where guests can relax while enjoying the sunny climate of Banyuls-sur-Mer.

Villa Camille not only offers an idyllic setting, it also offers a range of services dedicated to well-being. A spa with swimming pool, treatment rooms, sauna and ice fountain are available to visitors, for a total relaxation experience.

Despite a recent opening, the hotel is already enjoying great success. Sandra confides that 'The beginnings are very encouraging, with attendance that exceeds expectations. The establishment has become a popular place for both locals and tourists, attracted by the combination of its history and its luxury offering.'
