“It’s the awareness that climate change is not an abstract thing,” regrets, Tuesday November 5, on France Inter Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister of Ecological Transition, Energy, Climate and Risk Prevention, after the devastating floods which left more than 200 dead in Spain last week .
The minister maintains that France is also prey to such climatic events. Agnès Pannier-Runacher thus recalls that she was elected deputy for Pas-de-Calais during the last legislative elections and therefore “lived up close to the repetition of floods“. She also assures that since she joined Michel Barnier's government a few weeks ago, she has already “made three trips to the floods and activated crisis units twice in major circumstances”.
