The project for a semi-mobile slaughterhouse in the Lubéron has encountered a few stones in its path. A project carried out by the association of the same name and which should, from 2025, compensate for the absence of local slaughter structures and thus reduce animal stress. Three parking areas were envisaged: the Pays d'Apt, the Petit Lubéron between Pertuis and Cavaillon and the Pays de Forcalquier.
If two building permits were submitted for the first two, in the Alpes de Haute-Provence, still nothing. Florian Jean, representative of the mobile slaughterhouse in the department and breeder in Pierrerue, explains that the municipalities were not interested in this project.
