On Thursday October 31, the date of the Halloween party, the town of Digne-les-Bains, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, was affected by several incidents, reported BFM DICI. In the Arches district, a public library was set on fire. But it was during the night that events escalated. In another district – that of Champourcin – the police were targeted by fireworks mortars.
The police were warned by residents in the area that fireworks were being set off without authorization. When they arrived on scene, the officers and police vehicles were targeted. To defend themselves, they were forced to use their defense ball launcher. Although no one was injured, an investigation is underway to find the perpetrators of these fireworks. No person was arrested, but the individuals were clearly identified by the police, local media reported.
