the essential
The program for the second edition of Fous Rires Gascons has been revealed. On the menu: two weeks of shows from April 12 to 27, but also “special editions” from January.
The more, the merrier. This could be the adage of the Les Fous Rires Gascons festival, which is growing quickly and well in the Gers. Building on a successful launch last year to say the least (nearly 4,000 spectators, 6 sold-out shows over 9 dates, etc.), the organization has concocted a second, even richer vintage for 2025. “For the first edition, we tried to understand a little what the Gersois wanted in terms of humor proposition We tried to work on the festival so that there were a few encores during the year”, indicates Thomas Vautour Ahmed, founder and co-president of the festival. .
For the first time next year, additional dates will therefore be offered before the festival itself, which will take place from April 12 to 27 in four towns in the Gers, with Auch having the privilege of hosting the opening weekend. and the closing one. “This is really the big news,” says Thomas Vautour Ahmed. “We are going to try to do 4 or 5 reminders during the year to be able to offer things at other times of the year. We are still on the same goal : try to bring out artists, promote artists from the region, and bring in headliners.”
The success of the first edition obviously made things easier to think bigger in 2025. “When we go to see the production companies, they have already inquired. There are even artists who come to see me to offer to be on the programming because there was this word of mouth between the artists. They were very happy to be well received in Auch”, testifies the co-president of the festival, who cites Anne Roumanoff as an example. , godmother of the first edition and back next year. “She was delighted with the reception from the Gers public, which is why she announced to her production that she wanted to come back.”
The public will therefore be spoiled for choice, notably on April 12 with an opening gala hosted by Alex Vizorek, accompanied for the occasion by three comedians: La Bajon, “queen of political and social satire”, Marine Leonardi, “new star of humor”, and Mélodie Fontaine, “expert in sharp jokes on France Inter”, according to the organization. At the same time, Aymeric Lompret will perform on the stage of the Dôme de Gascogne, whose “Yolo” tour is already sold out in around ten cities. Anne Roumanoff is scheduled for April 13, at the same place.
Giorda, first female hypnotist in France
Eager to reach a wide audience, the festival will also deviate from the humor register with Giorda. The first female hypnotist in France will be on the bill for one of the “Special Edition” dates, on February 14 at the Auch municipal theater, for a special Valentine's Day evening. “There is something hyper interactive and immersive. She hypnotizes the entire audience and brings people on stage,” explains Thomas Vautour Ahmed.
The rest of the program will be revealed in the coming weeks. In the meantime, the ticket office is already open on the festival site.
