A fifty-year-old sentenced to six months in prison for violence against his ex-partner in Creuse

The Guéret court on Monday, November 4, sentenced a fifty-year-old to twelve months' imprisonment, including six months suspended, for violence against his ex-partner. This 53-year-old man, resident of Saint-Martial-le-Mont in the southwest of Creuse, therefore receives six months in prison.

He lived with his partner for a year before the breakup. This woman says to herself “emotionally dependent” et “often the prey of men who take advantage of her”. On August 15, she went to the Cressat country festival then to the Ahun flea market; every time she comes across him, “coincidence” according to him whileshe claims he follows herto the home of one of her friends where she spends the evening.

Slap and sexual blackmail

He only recognizes a slapbut the victim also speaks of strangulation: a simple “hustle” according to him. The prosecutor believes that this fifty-year-old has not learned the lessons of his first conviction and that he continues to downplay it. The president of the court questions him about his manipulative side, taking the example of sexual blackmail: the Creusois proposes sex in exchange for a new clutch for his ex.

The defendant admits to being a jealous man, “because she is beautiful”. He sends her numerous text messages to find out if his ex-partner is seeing other men, and where she is. When the sentence was announced, the fifty-year-old's face fell. He would like to apologize to the victim, but she has already left the room.

This Creuseois has done it again : he had already been sentenced to three months in prison in January 2024 for similar acts. After his appearance in court on November 4, the fifty-year-old must also comply with an obligation of care and work and a obligation to follow a course on violence intra-family. He has ten days to appeal.
