July 1: the search for housing continues

Philippe Bessette | June 26, 2024

A few days before July 1, there are still several families who have not found accommodation. A situation which seems to persist due to the housing crisis. The organizations do not understand why Quebec does not prepare more for this crucial time of the year.

Logemen’occupy mentions that the housing situation is worse than in recent years. With the housing crisis, we would need to build 5 times more housing by 2030 than what is currently planned to try to resolve this crisis.

The coordinator of Logemen’occupier, François Roy, seems to say that, even if Quebec must do more, it is rather towards the City of Gatineau that he directs his criticism.

Remember that employees of the Outaouais Housing Office are under pressure and could go on strike on July 1st.
