The Belleville-sur-Meuse cemetery has been the subject of permanent improvements for several years. Beyond the extension which had become necessary and which accommodates more and more new tombs, a development of the space devoted to columbariums, caverns and the garden of memory was carried out. At the same time, careful management of the resumption of abandoned concessions made it possible to free up new places in the original cemetery.

But recently, the municipality has planned work to better manage the various waste generated by the deposit of flower pots, wreaths or other objects. Until now, this waste was placed pell-mell in a dumpster outside the cemetery. Since All Saints' Day, the original cemetery has hosted, near the main entrance, containers for selective sorting (plant papers, pots or plastic packaging), “hoping that users will respect the instructions”, wishes the mayor of the commune, Marie-Paule Soubrier. These instructions are displayed using illustrated signs near the containers.

The work was carried out under municipal management by a technical services team led by Laurent Roger, surrounded by Pierric, Franck and Jordy. Identical work is planned in the new cemetery.
