Recently, the Guyenne Gascogne Québec reading committee met to review the 3 works in competition for this year 2024.

Three works, which were available at the Danielle-Esteban media library, as well as at that of Laplume.

These three works were chosen by the Québec jury at the start of the year. It is the Quebec publishers who give the names of 8 works by different authors. The French jury chooses three from these eight. Then, each local committee distributes the titles to members or supporters, who after reading and analysis will vote for an author. The three works selected for this year were, “What I know about you” by Eric Chacour, “Wild flowers” ​​are only wild in the name by Anne-Marie Duquette, “The version that interests no one” by Emmanuelle Pierrot. These three novels were made available to readers in the two media libraries; after reading, fans made their choice by November 15 at the latest.

And the prize goes to…

It was therefore on November 16 that the reading committee carried out the counting of this competition. It was very much the work of Eric Chacour which won the prize for the Guyenne Gascogne Québec committee. In a few days, we will know the national result. This prize includes a cash reward of €5,000, awarded during the Book Fair in March 2025. You should know that the same competition takes place in Quebec following an identical formula.

On November 22, 23 and 24, the 15th Quebec film festival will be held in the Le Sénéchal de Lectoure cinema where 6 films will be presented during these 3 days.

December 14, a stand selling regional products from Quebec will be present at the Astaffort open-air market.

At the open-air market on Saturday 30, the Telethon stand all morning, selling cooked meals.
