The National Institute for Research and Safety (INRS) and Health Insurance have developed a new tool allowing accommodation establishments for dependent elderly people (Ehpad) to assess professional risks.
In fact, their staff “are exposed to multiple risks” (physical, psychological and/or emotional load, risk of professional burnout, etc.). In particular, in this sector, musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) represent more than 90% of recognized occupational illnesses (60% being linked to back pain), underlines the INRS.
Pour “effectively protect the health and safety of employees”risk assessment constitutes “an essential first step”. The new online tool, freely accessible, allows this assessment to be carried out.
“Through a series of questions reviewing the different activities of employees, the tool helps users identify and prioritize professional risks”explains INRS. Afterwards, “for each identified risk, a list of appropriate prevention measures is proposed”. The tool also offers the possibility of editing an action plan.
