In Breteuil-sur-Noye, the former Le chat perché nursery school is now dedicated to leisure activities/ An ideal configuration.
The Chat-Perché school closed its doors at the start of the 2023 school year, due to lack of sufficient numbers. All nursery school students are now at La Cerisaie school.
The Chat-Perché premises did not remain vacant for long. From the summer holidays, the leisure centers of the social center took over. A positive change when these same receptions had until now been scattered.
A large space now offers ideal conditions for young people and support staff. They have several rooms, depending on age levels (3/6 years and 6/11 years) and a dormitory
The superb premises of the old school for children
Marie-Laure Fongeuse, director of reception during these All Saints holidays, is enthusiastic: “They are truly superb premises.”
With her team of six animators, she chose the theme of fall colors. On the wall, everyone can read the busy program for the two weeks of vacation: culinary workshop, intergenerational meeting, Master mind, giant, Halloween crown workshop, trip to the lake, boom, introduction to yoga, sleepover . But also calm times.
In the morning, the young people arrive in stages. The day begins immutably with a reminder of the rules of life and songs, before the workshops.
Last Thursday, while a group was carrying out an experiment on volcanoes, with Margot, others were preparing to go to the media library.
Nearby, toddlers from the Pomme-Cannelle multi-reception center make a foray into ALSH as part of bridge work. The 0/3 year olds discover the premises where the oldest among them will return next August for their first return to school.
“It reassures children and parents” judge Charline le Bozec, director of Pomme-Cannelle. The nursery has authorization for 20 children. “We have 35 registered because some only come in the morning or afternoon”
The leisure center is authorized to accommodate 60 children, from 3 to 11 years old.
Over the two weeks, a total of 160 toddlers were expected.
Most stay there for lunch: “We have lunch in collective catering, rue de l’Eglise” specifies Marie-Laure Fongeuse.
