Charitable projects are multiplying on the streaming platform, such as the famous Z Event, which made it possible to raise more than 10 million euros for ecological associations in 2022. Created by Zerator and Dach in 2016, it is an event bringing together several streamers over a weekend, for the benefit of an association.

Every year, the Z Event breaks records and raises astronomical amounts of money. Since 2019, he has held the world record for charity live that raised the most funds on Twitch. Absent in 2023, Zerator ensured the return of the event This year.

At the start of the year, Mister MV brought together more than 2 million euros with his SpeeDons video game marathonfor the benefit of Médecins du monde.

A few weeks later Furax took place, a Twitch charity event organized for raise awareness and inform about cyberviolence, the rights of victims and possible remedies. Founded by Nat’Ali and Joul, this second edition was supported by the Afrogameuses association.

The donations collected were donated to the association Féministes Contre le Cyberharassement. Through this project, Nat’Ali wanted to denounce the “double punishment” of women who participate in important concepts organized by content creators.

Charity stream for Palestine raises one million euros

Launched by Baghera Jones, the project Streamers 4 Palestinians brought together many streamers on Twitch. This began on Friday May 31 at 8 p.m. on the participants’ various channels, and ended on June 6 at midnight.

Among them, we find Ultia, Right Angle, Antoine DanielZerator, Horty, JDG, Ponce, stars and many others. “ Many streamers responded to the call very quickly, » explained Baghera Jones on her Twitch channel.

The event was created in an emergency, after the bombing of a refugee camp in Rafah. The aim is therefore to collect funds for Palestinian refugees and displaced personsfor the Médecins du monde association.

It’s mission accomplished, since almost a million euros were raised ! In fact, the symbolic bar was exceeded just before midnight.

The prize pool quickly increased, posting 450,000 euros on June 3, and almost 700,000 euros the next day. As at the Z Event, many viewers kept their donations for the “ final rush, » in order to make it explode.

At the end of the event, Baghera Jones shared his emotion on : “ It’s unimaginable, Thank you again for your support and that of all the participants and team for these 5 days in favor of the Palestinian people with Médecins du monde. »

On the side of Médecins du monde, this prize pool is a real relief: “ This jackpot for the Palestinian population was not planned, but it warms our hearts becausewe have major financial needs on the ground, » explains Virginie Poux, innovation project manager in the association’s collection department.

Several members of the NGO also intervened on different channels to answer Internet users’ questions. But also give concrete examples of the use of this money.
