Open in the countryside, a few kilometers from the town of Beaucaire (Gard), the Saint-Roman golf course was abandoned in recent months. New owners arrived this summer.

A new route planned

With them, the hope of a once again attractive golf course is reborn. The mayor, Nelson Chaudon, visited this natural space, located a stone's throw from the Abbey of Saint-Roman, to the north of the town.

Contacted by Actu.fr, Philippe Combe, 67, director of the site, takes stock of this announced renewal. “We took over the management of this golf course last Thursday July 18. Modernization work was immediately launched,” the sixty-year-old immediately confirms.

Thus, the journey of 6 holes will disappear. It will be replaced “by another route accessible to all and composed of 9 holes. New bodies of water as well as more pleasant pedestrian routes for the players are being developed,” says Philippe Combe.

Before the end of the year

The training area will be maintained and also redeveloped. It includes a putting court as well as another of practice.

Greens enthusiasts will have to be patient before they can once again indulge their passion.

“If the work progresses as we planned, normally, at the beginning of November, we will be able to normally welcome our visitors,” announces the owner of the place.

“Before the end of the year, we will launch a unique subscription campaign. We will offer to benefit from access to the golf course during 14 months for the price of 12. The objective is clear. We must encourage new players to discover this sport within our complex,” concludes, enthusiastically, Philippe Combe.
