It is the arrival of the Caetano disturbance which will cause this snowy episode in the north of Pays de la Loire this Thursday morning.
The wind will start to blow early in the morning across the entire region, but it will strengthen in the middle of the day, especially in the south of Pays de la Loire, in Vendée and Loire-Atlantique. We expect gusts of up to 95 km/h near La Tranche-sur-Mer, up to 85 km/h in Nantes. On Sarthe and Mayenne, we should not exceed 45 km/h.
The wind will weaken in the afternoon.
But the most surprising thing for the month of November in the region is the possible snowfall that Météo France is announcing. Snow mixed with rain in Sarthe and Mayenne and up to the north of Loire-Atlantique and Maine-et-Loire. Nothing major, but maybe a few centimeters on the ground.
“It will start around the beginning of the morning, a forecaster from Météo France tells us, and until early afternoon. It’s actually quite early.”
Temperatures will be low: 3 to 4°.
This potentially snowy cold episode, which will affect a northern part of France, from Brittany to the Center Val de Loire, will be one-off. Temperatures will rise at the end of the week to reach 8 to 9°, in Pays de la Loire.
