An intervention in the middle of the forest. The firefighters had to set out after an unusual accident, this Saturday, November 2, 2024.
It was 10:21 a.m. when the phone rang at the Signy-l'Abbaye fire station (Ardennes). Behind the receiver, the departmental fire and rescue service (Sdis) learned that a hunter was injured during the morning.
The press release sent to the editorial offices by Sdis reports“a 62-year-old hunter trampled by a deer”. The sixty-year-old presented “pains and wounds” to the chest.
After the action of three firefighters, who had deployed a victim rescue and assistance vehicle (VSAV), the injured person was able to be treated. It is considered to be in “urgence relative”it is slightly injured (see location on the map below).
The hunter was taken to the Charleville-Mézières hospital center (CH), around twenty kilometers away. The police were present at the scene of the accident.
At the start of the year, another hunting accident also took place in the Ardennes: a rifle exploded in the hands of a young hunter.
