Grandvilliers: the hospital center is mobilizing for Pink October

As part of Pink October, a month dedicated to breast cancer awareness, the Grandvilliers Hospital Center has intensified its mobilization to promote the importance of screening.

Several actions have been put in place to inform and involve residents, professionals and inhabitants of the area.

Since the beginning of October, the establishment has participated in the bra collection organized by Emmaüs. As a reminder, the bras collected will be resold in their stores for the benefit of Perspectives contre le cancer and the League against cancer.

On October 11, Doctor Bresson-Raynaud, oncogeriatrician at the hospital center, intervened to combat preconceived ideas surrounding cancer in seniors. His expertise made it possible to answer questions from residents and the team, thus raising everyone's awareness of this crucial subject.

Activities with professionals

On October 17, an afternoon focused on breast cancer awareness was organized. Among the activities offered, an interactive quiz allowed participants to test their knowledge and become aware of the importance of early detection. Practical self-examination demonstrations were also organized, essential for learning screening techniques.

Workshops on nutrition and physical activity, led by a dietician and the teacher of adapted physical activities, were offered.

Additionally, an art therapy activity allowed participants to create bookmarks. A “Message Tree” workshop led by the hospital psychologist allowed everyone to share words of encouragement, symbolizing their solidarity in the face of illness.

Recently, roses offered by Perspectives contre le Cancer were distributed in the different units, symbolizing a clear message for professionals: like a rose, take care of yourself and remember to get screened!

New meetings for Movember

The Hospital Center is planning other activities to maintain the momentum of awareness. An information day as part of Movember is already planned in cooperation with the CPTS of Picardie Verte. “We look forward to seeing you on November 22 from 2:30 p.m..”
