The “Japan Fortnight in Occitania” is back for its third edition from November 8 to 22. For this year, the event takes place in the Gardhas Nimes and to Alès.
“Japan invites itself to Cévennes land” et “Japan invites itself to Nîmes” are the two events that await the Gardois on the occasion of the third edition of “Fortnight of Japan in Occitanie”. Thus, the Houses of my Region of Alès and Nîmes work with local actors to highlight the culture and traditions of the Land of the Rising Sun.
One theme, two regions
The theme of this edition, organized by the Yujo association, “Silk, a thread stretched between Occitania and Japan”, brings together the two regions around the same story. Visitors will be able to discover a rich and varied program: new screenings of a Japanese documentary dedicated to Cévennes silk, exhibitions of kimonos, tastings of Japanese gastronomy, martial arts demonstrations, as well as sumi-e (painting) workshops. Japanese), floral art, theater, and traditional Japanese games.
