In a press release, the department explains the“SDIS du Lot intervened within 10 minutes to extinguish the fire which completely destroyed the vehicle and caused superficial damage to the building. The agents were able to return to their offices late in the afternoon to collect their personal belongings and return home. The carcass of the vehicle was evacuated at the end of the afternoon by a specialized company. “
According to initial information, it could be an overheating of the device. The Department’s 160 employees were evacuated as soon as emergency services arrived. Firefighters from Cahors and Lalbenque were mobilized, the smoke having spread slightly to the building and vegetation.
This evening at 6:30 p.m. the firefighters were still present to secure the premises. Agents from the Lot Department will continue their professional activity by teleworking.
