Accompanied by the regional governor, the general director of the deposit and consignment fund, the secretary of state for culture, Bacary Sarr recalled the importance of these cleaning days which have just been launched in a global context where the issue of the environment is at the heart of concerns. According to him, “the message of the President of the Republic was well heard by the populations”, adding that “the land, the space, the environment belong to the populations”.
“This call from President Diomaye comes at a time when the country is preparing to enter a winter period. This will help solve a lot of problems. This work carried out by the populations will make it possible to resolve many problems which were likely to arise in past years,” he maintained. He welcomed the gesture of the president of ASC Saloum, Fallou Kébé which aims to strengthen citizenship. “All those who can do it must be able to do so to help the populations to better organize themselves and to better make these actions effective and concrete on the ground.”
Speaking, Fallou Kébé will say: “We have taken this act of citizenship as sons of the land, but also respond to the call of the President, Bassirou Diomaye Faye”. Continuing, Fallou Kébé points out “we are taking the opportunity to show the way to good will and also to invite the populations to take ownership of this new directive from the President of the Republic”. However, he invited the populations to play their part for the sustainability of this initiative of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
