“We did tests in Chaudière last week and it went very well,” he explains. The car responded well and was very fast. It’s encouraging.”

Tests. These are two little words that the Roxton Pond pilot didn’t say often in recent years and that he repeats almost in every interview this season. Clearly, we do things differently at the Lacroix.

“Honestly, I loved my first weekend with them. They are real professionals, they work hard, nothing is left to chance. We tested at ICAR then at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park before the start of the season and we went for a spin at Vallée-Jonction last week.”

“That’s how you end up being successful.”

Marc-Antoine Camirand, with whom he shares the colors of Paillé, triumphed at Bowmanville. Gary Klutt and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin followed.

“I feel like I’m repeating myself, but the competition gets stronger every year. But it is thefunit makes it even more interesting for everyone, including the drivers.”

Success in Chaudière

Andrew Ranger arrives at the Autodrome Chaudière with two victories in the past, in 2018 and 2022. It’s a track that he knows, but that he knows precisely enough to know that anything is possible there.

“It’s a small track where it’s hard to beat when there are an interesting number of cars. Really, anything can happen in Chaudière. You can be first with one lap to go and finish 10th.”

Twenty-two cars are expected on Saturday. A figure that is more interesting than those years when there were barely fifteen of them. Raphaël Lessard and Alex Guénette will be making their first start of the season.
