Michel Der Zakarian is no longer the coach of Montpellier, announced this Sunday, October 20, the president of the Hérault club Laurent Nicollin, a few minutes after the largest defeat of the MHSC at home in its history (0-5) conceded against Marseille .
“I felt obliged to intervene”
“I terminated the functions of Michel Der Zakarian this (Sunday) evening. He is no longer the first team coach. Given the performance and the attitudes, I felt obliged to intervene”declared Laurent Nicollin at the microphone of DAZN.
After eight days, Montpellier is bottom of Ligue 1 with only 4 points, tied with Angers Sco, who brought home a point from Toulouse (1-1) earlier in the afternoon.

It remains to be seen who will replace Michel Der Zakarian, who returned to coach the MHSC in 2023 after a first stint between 2017 and 2021.
