Saint-Jean-du-Gard: “Seeds, a prodigious odyssey”, new exhibition at Maison rouge, until January 5, 2025

Have you ever wondered what seeds look like and if they are different from plant to plant? In any case, this is the subject of the exhibition presented, until January 5, 2025, at Maison rouge. Seeds, a prodigious odysseytakes visitors to explore the wonderful world of plants, but above all to discover seeds and the close link between their multiple forms and their dispersal functions.

A plant world entirely drawn by the author-illustrator Cruschiform whose work The Seed Odysseywas recently published by Gallimard. For four years, she was passionate about the design of seeds, and created some of her illustrations during a residency at Maison Rouge, in spring 2024.

The exhibition therefore gives pride of place to 60 illustrated plates where we discover a seed and its dispersal process explained in an educational and poetic way. A display complemented by anecdotes about the plant world, Cévennes landscapes illustrated by Cruschiform or even the stages of the author’s work. A breath of fresh air in the heart of winter!
