Two men were injured and one of them is in critical condition on Saturday evening after an armed attack in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough.

The police were called to the scene of an armed attack around 6:30 p.m., on Place Darlington, reported spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) Jean-Pierre Brabant.

When they arrived on the scene, emergency services located two men with injuries to their upper bodies, aged 37 and 42 respectively. The latter were transported to a hospital.

If there is no fear for the life of the 37-year-old man, the 42-year-old remains in critical condition.

According to several witnesses, an altercation degenerated between the victims and a suspect in a corridor of the block.

The suspect first left the scene before returning. The 35-year-old man was then able to be arrested by the police and transported to an investigation center, where he will be interviewed over the next few hours.

A perimeter was erected inside the building and an investigator was requested to the scene to analyze the scene, with the assistance of a forensic identification technician.
