Statistics make you dream, but one major disadvantage remains looming: Club Brugge’s qualification chances are analyzed

With 10 points from 6 games, Club Brugge has the prospect of an extended stay in the Champions League, although with 2 matchdays to go it is not yet mathematically certain. How can things go wrong?

Moreover, with the exception of Dinamo Zagreb, Club has the worst goal difference of the teams between places 15 and 25. A major disadvantage, because with an equal number of points, Club will end up on the short end of the table.

However, if Club Brugge can pick up a point against Juventus or Manchester City in January, it is 99 percent certain of an extended stay in the Champions League.

Club Brugge will monitor the performance of 4 teams with above-average attention.

PSG and Stuttgart need one win to leapfrog Club (with a better goal difference), numbers 27 and 28 Sjachtjar and Sparta Prague even need to win twice. The bottom 8 teams in the standings have already (almost certainly) been counted out.

The confrontations between PSG and Manchester City and between Stuttgart and PSG seem to be key matches anyway, because they are direct duels between pursuers who can still jump over blue and black.
