The work, worth a total of 1.5 million euros, should be completed in spring 2025.
The Métropole de Lyon announces the launch of work to green two public spaces at Part-Dieu: Place des Martyrs de la Résistance and Place de Frankfurt.
Renovation work on the Place des Martyrs de la Résistance, located at the corner of rue Garibaldi and rue Paul Bert, will begin in October 2024 and will end in the fall of 2025. The objective: “a real public space in a heavily green neighborhood, allowing for several uses: local market, place to take a break, fun space.”
The project provides for a 42% increase in the vegetated surface area.
The south side of Place de Frankfurt – which has already undergone a first renovation – located opposite the Part-Dieu (Villette) station, will also benefit from a redevelopment. This part, the former location of the LPA minute car park, will also be redeveloped, “to bring more comfort to travelers and create more vegetation at the station exit.”
In line with the “landscape revolution” advocated by the Metropolis, 84 trees will be planted as part of this project.
