As it did for its new iPad mini A17 Pro, Apple could give up its end-of-year keynote to unveil its new Macs in favor of… a simple press release.
For several days, the holding of a new keynote before the end of the year to unveil the brand new Macs under the M4 chip has been on everyone’s lips. In 2023, we were treated to a keynote on the occasion of Halloween, during which Apple was able to inaugurate the new generation of Apple Silicon chips, the M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max.
But this year could be an exception to the rule. This afternoon, Apple lifted the veil on a new iPad mini, or rather a modernized version of the iPad mini 6 with an A17 Pro chip, to run Apple Intelligence. Very few new features for the product, so nothing requiring a keynote. And with the new Macs, the trend could continue if Apple wants to repeat the formula.
In total, Apple should market three new computers: the Mac mini M4, the MacBook Pro M4 and the iMac M4. According to the latest news, there should not be very many new features, except this new SoC. The announcement of the iPad mini A17 Pro by means of a press release could have given ideas to Apple, which would therefore favor sending a press release to holding a virtual, but short, keynote.
