A shattered “universe” for Sophie Prégent

Her world presented live fired in several directions, reflecting those who celebrated with the actress and host who celebrated her 60th birthday last month.

Sophie Prégent was Beaudoin’s guest on En Direct de l’univers. (Eric Myre)

Shelby Jean-Baptiste, with whom she was paired at the start of her mandate as president of the Union of Artists, set the table and then left room for Alex Nevsky, Édith Butler, Marie-Claude Barrette, Dan Daraîche , Éléonore Lagacé, Annie Brocoli and Jeanick Fournier who took part in the opening medley.

This number was also a good summary of Sophie’s universe which goes from Bob Marley to the classics of French song without forgetting country music and pop like Lady Gaga. We even took a little detour towards Picklesperformed by Fabien Cloutier.

Edith Butler (Eric Myre)

Wave of emotions

Vincent Gratton made his rounds on set, reminding her of a trip to Jerusalem they took together. Just like Moonlight by Debussy which made him cling to the film Frankie & Johnny. It was at this moment that his life partner, Charles Lafortune, leaned on the piano to offer him this classic which was performed by the house pianist.

Gustine à la harpe

Gustine on the harp (Eric Myre)

Marc Lavoine, on screen, presented Gustine, the sensation of The Voice Francewho performed his success on the harp She has revolver eyes. We were seduced by this segment of great emotions for both the guest and the audience.

A surprise

The orange checkered shirt given by Émile Bilodeau which allowed him to enter the National Theater School became the key for several of his colleagues to find their place at the theatrical institution. Moreover, Émile was there to offer him Mistral winner.

Jackie Romeo

Jackie Romeo (Eric Myre)

The surprise of the evening was certainly the presence of Jackie Romeo, an artist she discovered at The Voice in the United States who came to the set to offer him The Storya piece that she says she is incapable of singing.

Love, friendship and.. Elvis

Her best friends Natalie Hamel-Roy and Marie-Josée Lecours formed a duo on For a momentfrom Harmonium. When Ingrid St-Pierre sat down at the piano to offer him See a friend cry, by Jacques Brel, the emotion was on edge. And what can we say about the Nevsky-Lagacé duo on I Can Ses Cleary Now? A good shot that could perhaps survive this short two minutes?

The evening ended with LindbergSophie’s favorite, and a little touch of Elvis with Charles Lafortune and Dan Daraîche.

The Beaudoin effect

Another beautiful evening on the setLive from the universe. We should undoubtedly applaud the quality of the guests, but these choices are first and foremost the work of France Beaudoin and I suspect the host of making it a very personal matter, and that’s all the better.

It is clear that France adores the artists she offers us by shedding all the light on them, even letting a little of their intimacy shine through.

She will no doubt give all the credit to her team. But her team knows very well that there is no show without the host and producer.

So France, when will you let us into your world? But for now, we’re already looking forward to next week when she will receive actor Normand D’Amour.
