Depression Kirk: five colleges impacted in Seine-et-Marne

The Kirk Depression Wreaked Damage. If many residents of the Grand Morin, in flood since Wednesday October 9, have seen their homes invaded by water, five schools suffered the same fate. These are the Hippolyte Rémy colleges (50 cm of water noted in the building) and Madame de la Fayette, in Coulommiers, as well as those of Villeneuve-sur-Bellot (Les Creusottes) and La Ferté-Gaucher (Jean Campin) .

Other buildings affected

The students and teachers of the latter establishment, deprived of electricity, received authorization from the Departmental Services Department of National Education of Seine-et- (DSDEN 77) to return home. As for the construction site of the documentation and information center (CDI) of Les Tournelles college, in Villiers-en-Bière, it was also impacted by the floods.

As a reminder, school transport was banned on Thursday October 10 following a prefectural decree. They will resume this Friday, October 11.

Still in Coulommiers, the Departmental House of Solidarity (MDS) remains open, but access is difficult. Finally, on the side of accommodation establishment for dependent elderly people (EHPAD) Sainte-Aile, in Rebais, prevention prevailed. Ten of its residents were, in fact, evacuated on the evening of Wednesday October 9.
