The August 24, 2024the Saint-Hilaire de Clisson supermarket closed its doors a year and a half after opening them. Less than two weeks later, the commercial court placed the store in liquidation.

During the month of September, the administrator collected the applications. The municipality, owner of the premises that it built precisely for have a food business in your municipality, hopes that the establishment will reopen at the beginning of the year.

Finally, the manager, Christelle Legalerie, who also left the apartment located above the store, wanted to express himself following this outcome.

Weighed down by electricity charges

I lowered the curtain on my business with sadness and regret. It was with deep sorrow on the evening of August 24. I wanted this project, created it and financed it entirely. I invested all my savings and energy into it. As a single mother of four, I moved in with them to make this dream come true.

Christelle Legalerie.

She had experience of management of three similar businesses beforehand.

Despite this motivation, from the opening, she was confronted “facing insurmountable challenges”notably the rising energy bills.

While my forecast was based on around 900 euros of electricity charges, in the first month, I received a bill for more than 3,000 euros. The calculation is simple: over six months, it became impossible to manage. I am deeply disappointed. I see today that independent local businesses are no longer taken into consideration.

“No support from the municipality”

This closure leaves him “a bitter taste”. “Especially since I have not received no support from our municipality, she believes.

No member saw fit to walk through the doors as a customer. This same municipality, alerted for several months about the situation of my business, only knew how to answer me: “madam, we did not go to get this project from you, it was you who brought it to us”

Today she says to herself “sad to no longer be able to serve” ses clients, “whether they are regulars in the morning, children and teenagers in the afternoon or young couples in the evenings”.

I have always opened with heart, desire and smile.

A conclusion by thanking those who supported it. She leaves the others “to their gossip”. She sincerely hopes that her investment, all the materials and funds, be taken back so that the town can find its grocery store.
