The municipal services of Savigny-le-Temple were on the ground during the night of Wednesday October 9 to Thursday October 10 to anticipate the effects of the heavy rains which fell on Seine-et-Marne. But it was ultimately not because of the precipitation that they had to work.

It was a trying night

Marie-Line Pichery, mayor of Savigny-le-Temple

Around 12:30 a.m. Thursday morning, it is indeed a electrical transformer which accidentally caught fire in rue Jean-Jaurès, depriving 2,600 homes of electricity in the area around the town hall, the town hall itself being impacted, as was theLouise Michel school.

“We quickly found ourselves on site with Enedis, the firefighters and the police to cope,” explains Marie-Line Picherymayor of Savigny-le-Temple. The outage even occurred near Plessis-le-Roi, but the electricity was quickly put back into service. At 2 a.m., we still had 2,600 households affected, there were still 1,300 at 5 a.m. and there were just over 300 remaining at 8 a.m. Fortunately, Enedis was really effective in terms of support, and everything should be back to normal at the start of the afternoon. Our priority was obviously to restore everything at the town hall and at the Louise Michel school so that the children could be welcomed from 7 a.m. The municipal teams, whom I thank again, also visited all the schools to ensure that everything was going well with the rains. It was a trying night, but the main thing is that everything is back to normal! »
