This “planned renovation” project involved nearly 11 km of HTA network (High Voltage – 20,000 volts) in the municipalities of Coulonces and Beaumesnil (). The operation consisted of changing all the parts presenting wear points : supports, insulators, fittings, anchors, surge arresters, switches, etc. Every 3 years, a helicopter and drones fly over the network to identify faults and damaged elements.

A long and careful preparation

The large-scale intervention, prepared for two yearsmobilized a thirty speakers came from Bayeux, Flers and Condé. Considerable work had been carried out upstream in order to “ minimize the impact of the outage and avoid inconvenience for users, by keeping the network under tension as much as possible and using generators as little as possible,” indicated Sylvain Dubois, technician at the Condé operational base for Enedis.

This project, which represents a total investment of 152 000 €, financed by Enedis, made it possible to secure and improve the quality of electricity supply to the 1,140 customers in the sector. This partial renewal process, which concerns air networksaims, through targeted actions, to extend the lifespan of the structures by at least 25 years.

“This work, which is part of a multi-year framework, is carried out thanks to a concession contract linking Enedis and the SDEC Energie, Calvados Departmental Energy Union which brings together all the municipalities, the latter being owners of their network, explained Catherine Gournet-Leconte, president of the SDEC. We are in a logic of territorial planning and territorial solidarity.”
