After two rainy days, that of Thursday October 10, 2024 should hardly be different in Caen and its surroundings. Weather France placed the department of Calvados in vigilance yellow rain-floodfor this Thursday. Vigilance is in effect from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Green waterways
The risk of flooding seems more due to the sequence of precipitations in recent days than to the rain which is expected to fall this Thursday in the Caen region. Météo France is indeed forecasting showers in the morning, before clearings in the afternoon. The authorities want to prevent localized overflows possible.
However, the lights are green regarding the level of different rivers and streams of Calvados for this Thursday, according to Vigiecrues. This is particularly the case for Orne, Dives and Vire.
As for the thermometer in Caen, Météo France forecasts 12° for the morning, and 16° in the afternoon.
