For several days, visitors to Parrot World, in Crécy-la-Chapelle, have been able to admire the new arrival of the alpaca family, at the entrance to the park. Chocatine was born on September 5 and spends most of her time with her mother, Griote. This birth comes in a context of excitement for Parrot World, the animal park having just launched its Halloween period.

What is an alpaca?

The alpaca, or alpaca, is a mammal native to South America, and more particularly to the Andes Mountains. Many are found in Peru, where their wool is used to make clothing, such as ponchos. The species, which has a lifespan of between 15 and 25 years, can be domesticated. Alpacas can protect chicken coops from certain predators, are loyal and loving pets, and can serve as hiking companions.

Females take 6 months to become adults, so it’s a safe bet that little Chocatine will become Parrot World’s mascot for some time to come.
