All students and staff members of Poly-Jeunesse secondary school, in , are currently confined inside the school establishment, due to “threatening comments” received Wednesday morning.

A vast police operation was still underway Wednesday morning to try to locate a potential threat both inside and outside the walls of the school, located on Sainte-Rose Boulevard, in the Fabreville district.

“There is no question of the presence of an active shooter. We are talking about threats here. We have a lot of police officers on the scene,” said Officer Érika Landry, spokesperson for the Laval police.

Confinement of students and staff was ordered shortly before 9 a.m.

The containment was still in progress around 11 a.m.

The area should be avoided by motorists. The police also ask the parents of the students not to come near the school, in order to allow them to work more efficiently. No arrests have yet been made and a police investigation is ongoing.

This is not the first time that a similar event has occurred at Poly-Jeunesse high school.

Last spring, two confinements took place in the space of just two weeks, once again due to threatening comments made against the establishment or certain students.
