The capacity of the René-Dupont stadium will be limited to 1,450 spectators for the derby between Aimargues and Nîmes Olympique.
Nimes Olympic
A capacity of 1,450 spectators. « It feels like we’re organizing the Classico! “. Julien Salmeron, the vice-president of SO Aimargues, discovers the constraints of organizing a match against Nîmes Olympique, a professional club, for a 5th round of the Coupe de France. After Monday’s meeting with the Aimargues town hall, the gendarmerie and the Gard prefecture, the reception capacity was set at 1,450 people at the René-Dupont stadium. As for parking for Nîmes supporters, it will be reduced to 75 places, with an entrance to the stadium which will be specially dedicated to them. There is no doubt that Crocodiles fans will be much more numerous in the Camargue, where Montpellier has a few supporters and where friction cannot be ruled out. This Aimargues – Nîmes Olympique will be a great football celebration for the SOA, but it comes at a cost. The bill already amounts to 4,000 euros for the amateur club which must finance security, the ambulance, the sound system and the ticket office. Tickets are on sale this Wednesday at the René-Dupont stadium (until 10 p.m.). Thursday and Friday, tickets will be available in four Aimarguois businesses (the bar des Platanes, the café de France, the butcher shop on the Place and the Netimmo real estate agency). Finally, if there are tickets left on Saturday, they can be obtained at the stadium, before the match which starts at 5 p.m. Prices are set at €5 behind the fences and €10 in the stand. The club applied the same prices as Vauvert last season, which hosted Nîmes in the 6th round of the Coupe de France.
Jean-Pierre Zapata is no longer. This Wednesday, Jean-Pierre Zapata died. Trained at Nîmes Olympique (1967-72), he then passed through Vergèze, La Grand’Combe, Saint-Laurent-d’Aigouze, Lunel and Marsillargues before returning to NO in 2002-03. During this season, he held the position of assistant to Olivier D’all’Oglio with whom he led the young Nîmes to the final of the Gambardella Cup. On social networks, the Nîmes Olympique association paid tribute to him: “ A recognized leader in Vergèze and Lunel, he always had his Nîmes Olympique in his skin, we send our most sincere condolences to all his family and loved ones. “. Jean-Pierre Zapata was 69 years old.

Kubota, like a fish in water. Versatile winger Alpha Kubota has been in good form in recent matches. Scorer in the last two matches against Aigues-Mortes where he also delivered an assist, the Japanese is sharp. As some of his teammates explained, automatisms come with time and the work orchestrated by coach Malek. “ I feel good, I have a lot of balls and the players are connected offensively », declares the player. “ We try to make everyone score, as evidenced by the many different scorers”he adds. As for his relationship with full-back Mouandhu, Alpha thinks there is still room for improvement: “But we’re already not too bad! »he smiles. For information, this morning at training, only Fahrasmane and Benezet were absent. Hit hard last Sunday, Barut trained and is getting back on track.
Alès Cévennes Handball
Received four out of four. The ACHB is off to a strong start! The Alès Cévennes handball club has had a remarkable start to the season with a total of four victories in as many matches. On Saturday, Joris Markus’ men beat Pays Viganais 28 to 26, in a close match where the gap was limited to two points, unlike the larger victories obtained at the start of the season. But a success all the more significant as the Pays Viganais is currently ranked second in the ranking and seems to be the main rival of the ACHB for this first territorial phase. The next challenge for Alès is already looming, with a match scheduled at home this Saturday at 9 p.m., against Générac, which occupies third place in the group. This good start must be continued until the end of December to allow the ACHB to hope to qualify for the second phase of the championship.
