It is looking increasingly likely that Ryan Mason will become Anderlecht’s new coach. The Englishman would already be in Belgium to start discussions.

Anderlecht have decided not to continue with David Hubert. Although the former KRC Genk midfielder has done a good job, the purple and white club continues its search for a new head coach (T1).

It now seems increasingly likely that Ryan Mason will succeed Brian Riemer as head of Anderlecht.

Currently, Mason is still an assistant coach at Tottenham, which means Anderlecht will have to negotiate with the London club to release him. It remains to be seen whether this will be possible.

The next Mauves coach already in Belgium?

According to The Newspaper, the native of Enfield would already be in Belgium to discuss with the purple leaders. At only 33 years old, the Englishman already has his professional coaching diploma.

As a player, Mason played for several English clubs, including Tottenham, where he shared the pitch with Jan Vertonghen. He had to end his career after a serious skull fracture suffered while playing for Hull City, before quickly retraining as a coach.
