XV of France – Cam Roigard back a year later, the Barrett brothers very present… New Zealand’s list for the autumn tour

A list without too many surprises. Scott Robertson has announced his 36 players for the autumn tour, during which New Zealand will challenge four nations from the northern hemisphere, including .

Scott Robertson did it in the traditional way. In line with a Rugby Championship finished in second place, with as many defeats as victories, the All Blacks continue with the usual autumn tour. For this, New Zealand will be able to count on its leaders, with the presence of Sam Cane, Damian McKenzie and the three Barrett brothers.

If the best player in the world 2023 Ardie Savea is obviously part of the list, there is quite a surprise in the 36 players selected. Indeed, Cam Roigard is making his comeback, he who has not worn the tunic of the triple world champions since the World Cup in France and a group stage match against Uruguay. Since then, the scrum-half has been absent from the field for several months due to a serious knee injury. He played his first match in several months this week, on the final day of the NPC, the New Zealand regional championship, scoring a brace off the bench.

Five matches planned, including one against France

During this autumn tour, the New Zealanders will play no less than five matches. If they first go to Japan at the end of October to face the Cherry Blossoms, the All Blacks will then continue with four matches in Europe. In the Old Continent, TJ Perenara’s partners will have a hard time facing England, Ireland and Italy.

But the match we are all waiting for is the shock against the XV of France. On November 16, the Blues meet the last finalists of the World Cup, for a remake of the opening match of the last World Cup.
