a new Model 3 with more than 700 km of autonomy

Electric car news

Are you a fan of electric cars and are you closely following market developments? Prepare yourself for news that could shake the sector. Tesla, the American electric automobile giant, is preparing to launch a new version of its popular Model 3. This new version promises to push the limits of autonomy, while retaining the performance that has made the model famous. brand.

A configuration optimized for efficiency

The new Tesla Model 3 Long Autonomy Propulsion represents a strategic evolution in the manufacturer’s range. By adopting a configuration with single engine on the rear axlecoupled with the 79 kWh high capacity batteryTesla aims to maximize the energy efficiency of its flagship vehicle.

This approach is reminiscent of that already adopted for the Model Y Grande Autonomie Propulsion. By removing the front motor, present on the all-wheel drive version, Tesla manages to reduce weight and complexity of the vehicle, while maintaining the power necessary for impressive performance.

Autonomy figures that make you dizzy

The first estimates regarding the autonomy of this new version are simply astonishing. According to leaked documents, the Model 3 Grande Autonomie Propulsion could achieve a range of:

  • 729 km in real conditions (702 km WLTP) with 18-inch Michelin ePrimacy tires
  • 674 km in real conditions (640 km WLTP) with 19-inch Hankook Ion Evo tires

If these figures are confirmed, we would be facing a real technical feat. The Model 3 Grande Autonomie Propulsion would not only surpass its all-wheel drive cousin (678 km WLTP), but would also establish itself as the queen of autonomy in its category, outclassing the Volkswagen ID.3 GTX Performance and its 601 km of WLTP autonomy.

Strategic pricing positioning

Although the official price has not yet been revealed, speculation is rife. It is logical to think that this new version will be positioned at a price higher than the basic Propulsion version but lower than that of the current Model 3 Long Autonomy. So it would be wise to count on a price equivalent to €44,490 or €45,490.

This pricing strategy could well shake up the market for high-end electric sedans. By offering record autonomy at a potentially more attractive price, Tesla is striking a blow and putting pressure on its competitors.

Performances that remain to be confirmed

If autonomy seems to be the strong point of this new version, what about pure performance? Although official figures have not yet been released, we can expect similar or even slightly better performance than the current base RWD version.

As a reminder, the base Model 3 RWD has an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h. It will be interesting to see how the rear-wheel drive version in long range version will behave in these aspects, but it is wise to base ourselves on the previous version and assign a 0 to 100 km/h achieved in 5.9 seconds.

One more step towards the democratization of electricity

With this new version of the Model 3, Tesla is not just pushing the technological boundaries. The American manufacturer is sending a strong message to the automobile industry: electric cars are now capable of competing with, or even surpassing, their thermal counterparts in terms of autonomy.

This development could well be the catalyst that was missing to convince the last skeptics. In fact, theautonomy anxiety remains one of the main obstacles to the mass adoption of electric vehicles. With a range exceeding 700 km, this new Model 3 could well break down this psychological barrier.

Furthermore, by offering such autonomy at a potentially more accessible price, Tesla is helping to democratize access to high-end electric cars. This strategy could well accelerate the energy transition in the automotive sector.

The arrival of this Tesla Model 3 Long Autonomy Propulsion on the market is imminent. Rumors suggest an official presentation at the next Motor Show. One thing is certain: this new version has the potential to redefine industry standards and accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles on a large scale. Stay tuned, because the electric revolution is only just beginning.
