Football: Pogba’s doping suspension reduced to 18 months

Paul Pogba will be able to return to competition next March after his four-year ban for doping was reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Paul Pogba, who will turn 32 on March 15, will therefore be eligible to play again. He shared on X a photo of his boots with his initials and the French flag.

Testing positive for testosterone in August 2023, during a match between Juventus and Udinese, the former French international expressed his surprise at this situation, claiming to have never deliberately taken prohibited substances. Those around him had mentioned possible accidental contamination by a food supplement prescribed by a doctor.

This affair took place when the footballer was already going through a difficult period, marked by injuries and controversies. Indeed, during the 2022-23 season, he only played ten matches due to injuries, and he had to undergo surgery, missing the World Cup in Qatar without being able to participate.

Additionally, Paul Pogba was involved in an extortion case, in which several people, including his brother, were referred to court.
