The Condom section of the France Alzheimer and related diseases association of Gers will meet at the Continental on Tuesday May 14 at 2:30 p.m. for its monthly memory café.
The theme of the meeting will focus on accommodation establishments for dependent elderly people. For this, the Condom team invited
The president of the association, Jean-Marc Pinaud, director of an establishment of this type in Marciac, will reveal the broad outlines of the operation of such an establishment: the formalities, the file, the reception, the services which are offered for the loved one. A facilitator who, for many years, shared the daily lives of the people welcomed will also be present. She will discuss how a typical day goes, talk about events, projects, outings and other activities that punctuate residents’ daily lives.
Entering a nursing home is sometimes poorly experienced by the people concerned, those being helped as caregivers. better knowledge of the places and the specific care provided make it possible to ease this anxiety.
People concerned or simply interested can come to the memory café, meet and share their thoughts, doubts and questions.
Psychologist Agnès Olivera will be there to answer all questions.
