“We’re in the final, we’re in the final!” » A few minutes before the end of the meeting between Stade Langonnais and Rennes this Sunday, May 5, 2024, the supporters of the red and white already knew the end of the story. Comberlin led 25 to 8 against Rennes for this Nationale 2 semi-final. It is therefore impossible to imagine any other outcome than that of victory for the Langonnais. The stadists will challenge Marq-en-Baroeul, Sunday May 12, in the final.
Dominant in the melee and on the lineout, Christophe Hamaceck’s men managed to thwart the Bretons. Supported by a large audience, the stadium players returned to the locker room with a jackpot: 22 to 5.
In the second half, the Rennais occupied the Langonnais camp, without managing to score, thwarted by a strong defense.
It’s a big achievement for Little Thumb from Nationale 2, French Federal 1 champion in 2023. The Rouge et Blanc will play a final, barely a year after the shield won last season.
