Welcome behind the scenes of the Miss Lozère 2024 election alongside the six candidates

The six candidates for the Miss Lozère 2024 election prepared all afternoon on Saturday May 4, 2024, at Quartz in Saint-Chély-d’Apcher, for the curtain to rise at 8:30 p.m. Between trips, hairstyles and makeup, the young girls were united and smiling.

It’s 2:40 p.m. Noémie Agnely, Lola Borde, Lisa Pourcher, Léontine Fayt, Constance Dupetit and Tiffanie Heuzé are the six candidates competing for the election of Miss Lozère 2024. They are welcomed by Marie-Charlotte Méré (Miss Camargue 2005 and semi-finalist in the competition Miss France) in charge of the organization. After signing the regulations and filling out the information sheet, the young people from Lozère take the first step: taking measurements. They come in turn in front of Miss Camargue 2005 to check if they are at least 1m70 tall.

The candidates are all stressed and impatient for the preparations to begin. “It’s good stress” ; “I can’t wait to go on stage,” entrust each of them. The most distressing stage for these Lozerians is not that of traveling, but the one-minute speech.

The first steps on stage

It’s 3 p.m. Noémie, Lola, Lisa, Léontine, Constance and Tiffanie go on stage to learn their movements for their three appearances in front of the jury: pink evening dress, green dress and in a swimsuit. The first workouts take place in flat shoes, while the last ones are done in heels. All under the watchful eye of Marie-Charlotte Méré and Fiona Page, Miss Lozère 2023. “Five of the six girls came to talk to me on social networks, before today, to get advice on how to be less afraid on stage”confides Miss Lozère 2023.

It’s 3:29 p.m. The rehearsals continue with a smile for the girls. “For the microphone, place it against your chin and speak normally”advises the event organizer.

Meanwhile, the former Misses are at the back of the room rehearsing the choreography for the evening’s Olympics-themed show.

It’s 4:30 p.m. End of rehearsals for the six candidates. “I’ll let you go to the dressing room to get ready. You have until 7 p.m.”says Marie-Charlotte Méré, delighted to see the investment and the good atmosphere between these girls. “We don’t feel the competition”she supports.

Good atmosphere in the lodge

This year, the candidates must do their own makeup and do their hair. “We learned yesterday that the students in charge of the girls’ beauty would not come”, laments Miss Camargue 2005. But don’t panic, the candidates are ready. Makeup, curling iron, false eyelashes, everything is there to carry out these missions. The young girls were able to count on Léontine, a BP hairdressing apprentice, to take care of their hair and Lola for makeup. “this is our full face” girls are having fun. It’s 8:10 p.m. Final makeup touches, rehearsal of their speech and putting on their first outfit: a shiny pink dress.

It’s 8:20 p.m. All the girls in the spotlight this evening are taking advantage of the moment to do a little photo shoot on stage before the launch of the Miss Lozère 2024 election evening.

Constance Dupetit is elected Miss Lozère 2024

It’s 11:30 p.m. It is with sparkling eyes and a smile on her lips that the new Miss Lozère 2024, Constance Dupetit, from Florac-Trois-Rivière, reacts to her election: “I’m very moved and happy! I’m still on cloud nine. I didn’t expect it at all. Initially, I signed up to gain self-confidence and be more comfortable speaking for the BAC test, underlines the 17-year-old. Now that I am Miss Lozère, I want to highlight the department even more.”
