Nestled between the Nantes-Brest canal and the Oust, it is a new place of encounter and exchange which has just emerged in Bréhan: the “BEAR Pot” In this hamlet of Penhouët, in Bréhan, an old building surrounded by century-old oaks, well-known and two centuries old, is in the process of coming back to life under the leadership of two friends who decided to put down roots here adventure.

” A real favorite “

“When I saw this house for the first time, I called Raphaël to come and see,” says Julien Deliniers, his cap screwed on a bearded head and very clear eyes. Initially, he was looking for a place to practice his new profession of black-smith. This old creperie, which was then called “la Forge” and belonged to the Gazeau family, was the predestined place.

“A real favorite,” confirms Raphaël De La Vega (“in three words like Don Diego,” he specifies).

Julien decides to buy the house. “But when I saw the hall of the creperie, the old bar, everything was still in its original state. There were still old bottles, business cards from local artisans. And then I said to myself it would be a shame to keep this place for yourself and not bring back to life to all that.” Beyond the blacksmithing project, there were better things to do.

Share good times

These two adopted neo-Bretons, who have in turn been heating engineers, plumbers or site managers, know what to do with their hands. The room is completely cleaned and renovated, the old bar, too large, disappears in favor of a magnificent beam taken out of the garage. Between the old stones, the vast chimneywood, steel, stools and comfortable vintage sofas, the place exudes warmth and friendliness which invites you to share good times.

“We then chose to set up a associative bar », explains Raphaël. A simpler formula administratively and much less expensive than a classic License IV. Here, soft drinks, beers and wine are served up to 18°C. Perhaps soon there will also be boards for snacking, or even catering. “We’re thinking about it.”

Recreate the link

The association is called BEAR (a mysterious acronym which its authors keep secret) and bar customers must adhere to it to benefit from it. “People can give what they want from one euro per year,” explains Raphaël who took on the role of treasurer under Julien’s presidency. The goal non-profit of the association forces the two friends to work elsewhere. Julien notably revived the forge, adjoining the bar, and where he shapes his objects. He also does the bookseller in his spare time.

But above all, the new bar, open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, has taken off and broadened its spectrum. Concerts have already taken place, soon exhibitionsor even a flea market… “We want recreate the link and make this place a place of sharing,” assure Julien and Raphaël. They also meet a need, if we are to believe the hundred or so people who have already joined the association and the project.

Like Jean-Luc, present on the scene with Cathie his companion during our visit. A sculptor, he appreciates this “very inspiring” place which could also resemble an artists’ residence.

Le Pot de l’OURS, open every Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Contact: [email protected]
