Work on the future Abbey Halls from Alès (Gard) started several weeks ago. The project is planned to last a yearaccording to the schedule transmitted by the municipality.

Summer 2025

Under the town hall square, a provisional market opened its doors on Tuesday September 26, 2023.

The construction of the future market in the Gard city continues. The first shovels were given at the beginning of April 2024 in the presence of the city’s mayor, Max Roustan.

From 30 years, the site welcomed Gardois who came daily to do their shopping. The project to modernize the Alesian site has been regularly discussed for several years.

A reflection was launched by the municipality from the spring 2018.

Work in several phases

Spread over nearly 1000 m², the site will be completely redeveloped. The project presented by the architects of the AWA firm notably plans to completely rethink the various stalls present in the halls.

The circulation of visitors within the halls must be improved. The floor slab, present in the underground car park, will also be destroyed to be completely rebuilt in the coming months.
