“It’s my haven of peace,” confides Éric, a regular at the port of Tinduff in Plougastel-Daoulas, savoring the view. Even in the gray, the landscape remains delicious.
“We’re happy here,” smiles the boater, also a rider. The gaze wanders off into the open sea. In the viewfinder, Pors-Gwen beach, accessible by paddle or kayak. A little further, the tip of Rostiviec, the bay of Daoulas.
A permanent show
“The spectacle is before our eyes,” marvels Jean Urvois, president of the Tinduff port users’ association, co-manager of the premises with the Municipality.
As a true ornithology enthusiast, he took the opportunity to praise the richness of wildlife local, evoking redshanks and other black-necked greaves.
A popular pleasure
Before the war, the Tinduff was a large shell harbor, with up to 120 boats. A prosperous period. Professional fishermen gradually disappeared. “For five years, there haven’t been any,” regrets Jean Urvois. However, a young person should settle in soon.

“It’s a popular pleasure, we want to preserve it,” says Jean Urvois. The majority of boats are small speedboats and sailboats. »
Port of old rigging
Tinduff is also the home port of around twenty old rigs. It was also chosen as the port of call for the Brest Maritime Festival. A big party will be held on this occasion on Saturday July 6. Concerts have already been announced.
In fine weather, the port of Tinduff welcomes manyfestive events. The large esplanade lends itself easily. If attendance soars in summer, the port is alive all year round.
The café, a landmark
The Café du port, the only business present, has a lot to do with it. Open every day, all year, except December 25 and 31. The business organizes concerts, hosts exhibitions, broadcasts sporting events, etc.
” It’s a institution“, recognizes Marion Deniel, manager of the place. The café remains the meeting point, the landmark. “We are used for everything,” summarizes the shopkeeper. The staff is used to providing service to residents of the area as well as to boaters, to providing information to tourists…
